- I Want to Attend a Service Academy Because:
- I have always had a strong desire to serve my country and help people. I have also wanted to fly for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, my eyes were never the best so I just tossed the idea of going to the USAFA aside. Luckily, I finally said one way or the other, I was going to go, even if I couldn't fly. (Now they offer LASIK, so yay!). I also have a strong desire to protect this great nation and to fight for what I believe in, and for what our founding fathers believed in. I enjoy challenges and am constantly trying to find new ways to challenge myself and become more of the person I want to be. I hope I will be able to accomplish this by attending the USAFA.
- About Me:
- I am 16 and a senior in high school and a sophomore in college(its slightly confusing)...I play basketball and any other sport I can, I am VP in SGA, Student Senate senator, RHA, Astronomy club president, and a community leader for my dorm wing. I love any leadership opportunity! I can't wait until I can hopefully enter the class of 2012 and kick some butt in BCT! I know that doesn't begin to cover half the stuff about me...so if you have any questions feel free to ask!

- How about ACT? The AFA has two diff. scores. a 28 and 29. one had a higher math and english score. I dont know which one has a higher point value.
- GPA:
- ummm...two different ones here too. 3.917 for high school. and a 3.34 for college...so when combined and weighted its about a 3.8

Progress again.
WOOHOO! All I have left to do after the 7 of August is my CFA and get the nomination. All of my other paperwork is done and sent off and I had my interview this past week so that is over. Medical exam is in a couple days but I'm not worried about that. Besides the CFA and nomination, I just have to continue to update things as necessary. I hope all of this hard work has paid off and I hope I will have an appointment in October or November!

Progress...
So things are coming along really well so far. I have my interview in just over a week and my medical exam is the week after that. I am also trying to get paperwork off to my representative for a nomination. I still have two teacher evaluations left for the Academy to receive and the USAFA should receive my transcripts within the next few weeks. I am going to take the Candidate Fitness Test in the next month so I can get my endurance and upper body strength built up some more. Overall, I'm reall… Continue

try again and go to college in the time between with my scholarship money from TRIO... and if its because of my eyes, then ill go to VMI, then join the military... if not enough money, then enlist b/c the standards for your eyes are diffrent.... o...
