Why I Started NewCadet.com

Hello, I am the webmaster of NewCadet.com. I am not currently applying to the Academy nor am I a current cadet.

The story is, after being accepted to USMA, I wasn't able to accept the appointment because of a dual-citizenship issue. As you can imagine, it was a dismal disappointment for my dream of attending West Point.

I am now attending a civilian college, but I still have a strong passion for the service academies. I am a strong believer of the cause and I want to use whatever knowledge that I gained during my own admissions experience to help other candidates fulfill their dreams.

Don't get me wrong: I am by no means an expert on this subject. I cannot compete with an admissions representative or some of the hardcore academy parents on forums like CC. But I will do whatever is within my own ability to improve the application process for other service academy candidates.

Get Into Academy N is now NewCadet.com

I sent out a message to all our members on this network regarding a name change. This network can now be reached at www.newcadet.com instead of http://getintoacademy.ning.com.

Welcome to the N

It's been one day since we opened up Get Into Academy N and I see 13 candidates signed up already. It's not bad considering that we didn't run any Google advertisements or banners on other sites. If you want to help make this place better, spread the word by mentioning it on forums and telling your friends about Get Into Academy.

I'm a junior at a very small private high school and I was wondering if you could give me any advice as to what extra curricular activities I could be involved in outside of school. I'd like to get more leadership positions, but my school doesn't have a lot of opportunities to do that sort of thing. Any advice?

Similar to Max's comment, I think that there are, ahem, certain members who have questionable identities and may be here to disturb the peace. They are argumentative, disrespectful, and a touch insulting.
