- I Want to Attend a Service Academy Because:
- I want to do something that will make a difference, especially in this generation which will determine the fate of our country. We are at a cross roads now both politically and economically, as well as morally. I believe that with my strong Roman Catholic upbringing and conservative political views I will be able to show will and determination in order to protect and serve the USA and to ensure that the same freedoms I experienced and am experiencing throughout my childhood and adolescence will be available for my children and all future generations in America.
- About Me:
- I am a 15 year old junior, meaning that I am young for my grade and have always dealt with working hard not only to keep up with the older students but to excel above them in grades as well as maturity. My uncle attended the USNA and both of my grandfathers were in the Navy, so the drive to fight for my country runs in the family. I am a Catholic conservative republican and am extremely patriotic. I have always excelled in math and science,so engineering is almost a default choice for my major in college. I am also an artist, mostly with pencil and charcoal. I have tried painting and digital art as well. Writing is also another of my hobbies and I'm attempting to write a novel for NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, wish me luck! :)

inauguration 09 and beyond
well, whether or not they knew what they were doing, the majority of america elected obama as president, so i guess we wil get what we get.
on other topics, im starting to wonder whether im cut out for academy life after all. maybe rotc would better suit my needs. maybe not the military at all. i really need to just pray and think about it, its a big decision, and the more i put it off, the harder it will be if i decide the academy is for me.

The Edge of Reason
I am now officially on the edge of when i need to start the application process. as far as i understand it, the first thing i should do is apply for the summer seminars, then nominations. and nominations for class of 14 are due next fall?

CAP, Gustav, and other fall things
Hello!
I've finally gone to 3 CAP meetings, so now i can actually submit my application. sadly, though, getting all of my uniform, id card, etc. is a long and drawn out process. once i turn in my application, it takes a week to get my id card. from there, i can order my blues online and they willl arrive in about 2 weeks. in the mean time, i have to accumulate some bdu's. then i have to get my badges, and a name tag, and a bunch of other nick nacky clothing things like belts and boots from mili… Continue

Junior year!
Junior year will start in less than two weeks, and in some ways i'm excited, others i'm nervous.
Cross country practice started a few weeks ago, and since this is the first time i've ever participated in sports, i was thrilled with how it turned out. I'm not very fast, but i do try my hardest. I hope that varsity isnt a requirement for the academies, because that is very doubtful as of right now...maybe next year. :)
My first meet will be the weekend after next- i'm nervous about that.

Since i started in my junior year there are other varsity girls who had been in track longer than me so they already had there team for distance decided. Maybe next year I could get in distance but right now I'm thinking of doing shot put but I'm not really sure.

No..Just CAP.
My Captain asked me if I wanted to serve the next term for the CAC as an assistant so I'm going to do it. That'll be a great leadership role to put on the resume.=]
Rock climbing was a blast.
Most of us climbed up just to jump down and do crazy flips.
It was a blast.

- I was really nervous abou thte push up thing even though I work out everyday,I am still not at the top of the game. I passed my test but I know I can do wayyyyyyy better. I was so nervous at first having the thought of all the guys watching me but they helped me so much pushing me and calling out"GO LOPEZ!" Most wonderful group of people I have ever been apart of.
We are going rock climbing tommorow as a squadron. We are preparing for our survuval camp this spring break. I'm way ready for it.
Side note that really doesn't matter....the book I ordered offline camein...Woooo Jarhead lol.
