I Want to Attend a Service Academy Because:

The first time I visited the Naval Academy, I was in 6th grade. I loved it there; everyone was so full of ambition and pride. I saw a group of Navy women running for exercise and I told my dad I want to be like them when i grow up. He told me I can't becuase I am a girl. One of the reasons I want to join is to prove him wrong.

When I was younger a veteran told me that you don't know what freedom is until you actually are fighting for it. I guess I want to know what freedom is.
