I want to be a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army and attend and graduate from the best institution in the United States.
About Me:
I am 17 years old. I am from the Bronx, New York. I've wanted to attend West Point since my Freshman year of High school but have always been intimidated about being accepted. I am very athletic but I am only an average student as far as my grades go.(in the 80s)
Activities:
I am a senior at Cardinal Hayes High school in the Bronx, New York. I am a very hard working student athlete who loves academics and sports. I am in my school's Varsity football team and indoor/outdoor track team. I also participate in marching band, student counsil and Latino Society. For more info just send me an email.
I don't know where you're at as far as SAT preparation goes. Improving your SAT score is simple (but not easy, because it takes work). Anyone can boost their SAT score by a couple hundred points just by studying a prep book. I recommend either Princeton Review or Kaplan. The practice tests in the back are the key to improving your SAT score, especially for the math section. Get on it now and don't procrastinate. :)
Regarding leadership, that's all up to you. Looks like you have a pretty solid record already from your profile. I didn't have a spectacular leadership record (president of math club), but I think that going to SLS and showing the cadre what I was capable of helped the caliber of my application a lot.
Hey what's up. Welcome to the community. As you can see, this is a very new network. Opened it up today, actually. I'm hoping that a "social network" works out better than a forum. If you know others who are aspiring for the academies, let them know about this site. Peace.
try again and go to college in the time between with my scholarship money from TRIO... and if its because of my eyes, then ill go to VMI, then join the military... if not enough money, then enlist b/c the standards for your eyes are diffrent.... o...

Were you able to attend SLS?
- 2190 combined SAT score
- 4.0 GPA; graduated salutatorian
- Varsity football, boxing, karate
- Math club, scholastic scrimmage
- Attended Summer Leadership Seminar with good review by the cadet sergeant
I see that you have a solid resume on your "about me" snippet. Good luck and keep up the hard work throughout this year.
